Specialist Support

At Pacific Berowra, our dedicated Wellbeing Team begins with our wonderful and compassionate classroom teachers along with our Chaplain and our Special Education Teacher. Each one is committed to fostering a secure, compassionate, inclusive and safe learning environment where all students feel valued, supported and heard.

Our approach to wellbeing and support embraces the whole student: academic, social, psychological, spiritual and emotional. We aim to empower students to flourish and develop resilience that will serve them throughout their lives.

We recognise that student wellbeing extends beyond the classroom. Our team proactively partners with parents, caregivers and external professionals and agencies as needed. Pacific Berowra is also a part of the Pacific Group of Christian Schools and has access to the Group Wellbeing Team and resources.

Relationships

We understand that navigating social dynamics can present challenges for young individuals. Our Wellbeing Team is experienced and well equipped to guide them through challenging and demanding experiences. Whether these challenges relate to dealing with conflict, building healthy relationships, or developing good communication skills, our teachers and Chaplain offer guidance and suggest strategies to build positive connections.

Stress Management

During school life, students can experience increased stress due to academic pressures and other varying external factors that create unhealthy stress levels. Our Wellbeing Team provide holistic care by working closely with students during times of elevated stress and collaborate with families and support networks to nurture each child and help them manage stress.

Mental Health

When it comes to mental health, our teachers and Chaplains recognise the importance of early intervention and prevention. We know and understand that children of all ages can encounter a variety of mental health issues. Our Wellbeing Team provide a safe space for students to talk about their concerns and find strategies for dealing with mental health issues. We work closely with mental health professionals and seek appropriate help if required.
