History of Pacific Berowra Christian School

From simple beginnings we have emerged to become a wonderful Kindergarten–Year 6 School known for its big heart with exciting plans to continue to grow in the years ahead.

Glorifying God for over 30 years

Christian Education began in Berowra with the official opening of Berowra Christian Community School on March 23, 1986.

Led by its founding Principal, Steve Spies, our first teacher, Mavis Hudson commenced teaching with a class of 30 students. In the decades that followed the School has grown. The site has enjoyed steady improvements with new buildings and resources. Hundreds of students and their families have benefited from an outstanding education with a Christian foundation. In 2013 Mr Steve Spies retired after 28 years’ service as Principal. In 2014 Steven Dodd commenced as Principal and in 2016 our school was renamed Berowra Christian School.

In November 2022, we celebrated becoming a part of the Pacific Group of Christian Schools, embracing an enlarged vision to start a Christian Secondary School (K-12) in Berowra under God’s direction over the next decade. The school was renamed Pacific Berowra Christian School and now operates out of Pacific Group of Christian Schools Limited.

SCHOOL ESTABLISHED

Berowra Christian Community School commences with 30 students, Mavis Hudson is the first teacher and Stephen Spies is Principal

NEW BUILDING

A new two storey building with 4 modern classrooms is constructed

RENOVATIONS AND ADDITIONS

The Church and School Hall is renovated and new kitchen, library, change rooms and staff room are constructed as part of the BER (Building the Education Revolution) funding process

2013-2014

CHANGE OF PRINCIPAL

The first Principal, Steve Spies retires. 
Steven Dodd commences as Principal.

SCHOOL RENAMED

Berowra Christian Community School renamed to Berowra Christian School

2022

PACIFIC GROUP

Berowra Christian School becomes part of the Pacific Group of Christian Schools
